Road cycling introductory confidence course

One of many cycling courses run by Pedal Ready, free to those who live or work in Sheffield. Learn straightforward techniques to minimise the risks when cycling. Each course is two weeks and runs as a weekly three hour session.

This course, "Road Confidence 1", is an introduction to cycling on quiet roads covering basic concepts such as road positioning, overtaking parked cars and negotiating junctions. Each course is two weeks and runs as a weekly three hour session.

Sheffield Against Fracking monthly meeting

Fracking causes toxic and radioactive water contamination, air pollution, massive road traffic, earth tremors, and adds to climate change. Ineos, a company licensed for fracking, are targeting rural areas around Sheffield for drilling, among tens of thousands of wells, pipelines and compressor stations threatened across the UK, and supported politically by only the Conservative Party.

Sheffield Against Fracking meets on the first Tuesday of each month, to support and plan campaigns and actions. All welcome.

Palestinian singer, musician and broadcaster Reem Kelani returns to Sheffield with her stunning blend of entertainment and cultural enlightenment. With Bruno Heinen (piano) and The Commoners, choir against injustice.

Organised by Sheffield Palestinian Womens Scholarship Fund and Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange, in support of educational projects in Gaza. Ticket prices £16/£25 donation/£8 students and benefits concessions.
