Public meeting on democracy, with General Election candidates

The Sheffield Group of Unlock Democracy and Power 2010 are jointly sponsoring a public meeting of the Sheffield Central candidates in the General Election and you are invited.

  • Green Party (Jillian Creasy)
  • Independent (David Pidcock)
  • Labour (Paul Blomfield)
  • Liberal Democrats (Paul Scriven)
  • UKIP representative
Sylvia Johnson, Pro Vice Chancellor at Sheffield Hallam University, will preside. Candidates will make a brief statement on the state of our democracy and their own proposals for solutions, and comment on the Power 2010 pledge. The meeting will then be open for questions to the candidates. You may also be interested to hear about the Vote Match website which gives people the opportunity to see whether their views are reflected in the policies of the political parties, This is being rolled out through virtual word of mouth.
