National food Service Symposium: Robin Dunbar & Megan Blake.

Part of Festival of the Mind, presentation of research to inform the discussion towards a National Food Service. This is also an opportunity for you to contribute to the dialogue. Robin Dunbar, Emeritus professor of evolutionary psychology at the University of Oxford. His recent Breaking Bread report revealed that regularly eating alone is the biggest single factor for unhappiness besides existing mental illness, one reason why Foodhall promotes public communal eating and cooking spaces.Professor Megan Blake will share research she has been undertaking on this topic and insights from the Food justice MA in the University.After the talk is a large open, public community meal cooked by volunteers allowing experience of the idea in action, and informal discussion.
