Sharrow Folk Festival 2017

The third Sharrow Folk Festival, once again at the magical Hagglers Corner, will feature a range of folk, roots and acoustic music and folk dance across two days. It's a fundraiser for Sharrow Festival 2017 (which takes place on Saturday 1st July.) Saturday afternoon session: Free (2-6pm) Pitsmoor Ladies Ukelele Chorale. Sweet harmonies and tall stories.Ruby Williams. Young singer-songwriter.Saturday evening session: Ticketed - 2 stages (7.30pm-1am)Papa Al. Global mishmash from the Sheffield Live DJ.Jack´s Rake. One of the leading folk bands in the Sheffield area. The Mother Of Crows. Pagan folk rock featuring Polish songs and klezmer melodies.Down Trodden String Band. Old-time Peak District string and four-part harmonies.Bungalow Bliss. Acoustic and vocal trio in a folk style.12 Dead In Everett. Syndicate-folk, anarcho-Americana and old time rebel songs.Joey MacPhail. On the edge of flamenco and misery, stories of heartbreak, grit and romance.Gemma Gray & Joel Robson. Folky acoustic and electric guitar duo.LIO. Hippie at heart, beautiful indie and folk music about love, heartbreak, and figments of her imagination. Charlie Barker. BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards semi finalist.Rotherham African Drummers. A blast of African percussion.Sunday afternoon session: Free (2-6pm)Toki Trio. Traditional and contemporary folk music on fiddle, accordion and guitar. Sharpish. Multi instrumental family band with dynamic arrangements and unusual time signatures.Frank Birtwistle. Talented acoustic nylon string guitarist playing original folk-classical instrumental pieces.Sunday evening session: Ticketed - 2 stages (7.30pm-Midnight)Treebeard. Folk legend Chris Treebeard and friends.The Silver Darlings. Songs and stories polished by love and loss.Avital Raz. A singer-songwriter with a multi-cultured get-together of many strange characters.The Unsung Roots. Contemporary folk duo, blurring traditional music and contemporary styles.Prishni Asthana. Indian folk dance and music from Sunrit Culture Group.Del Scott Miller. Great acoustic guitarist.Fran Wyburn. Gorgeous acoustic folk.Break A Leg! Folk, jazz and blues songs with voice, clarinet and guitar.Rob Lowdon. The Scottish troubadour, just plain honest acoustic music.Nic Harding. Singer-songwriter; contemporary folk with soulful heartfelt lyrics and maybe even a Spice Girls cover.Ticket Prices: On The Door: £7 per day, advanced tickets £6 per day, all weekend £10.
