Warmer Homes Together: How to Cut Our Energy Bills and CO2

You are warmly invited to an event on how we can help ourselves, and our friends and neighbours, to super-insulate our own homes, making them more comfortable, healthier and cheaper to heat. Information, practical suggestions and case studies to inspire and encourage us all to take action. Plenty of time for questions and discussion.Speaker Andy Walker supported members of Transition Meanwood and Otley Community Energy Group to become expert installers of home insulation. Founding director of SURE Insulation, a social enterprise providing high specification insulation solutions in older houses. He now works with Leeds Empty Homes Campaign and Canopy Housing Project. Technical Editor and contributing author for the Haynes Manual on Home Insulation.Also Charlie Baker of Carbon Co-op, a community benefit society which enables householder members to achieve radical reductions in carbon emissions through whole house retrofit improvements. By looking at some of the technical and financial challenges faced, Charlie will discuss the advantages of taking a cooperative approach to such work.Free public meeting jointly organised by Green Triangle & South Yorkshire Energy Centre.
