Peace Picnic

Sun 12 Aug 2012, 2-5pm, Meersbrook Park walled garden.

An event in remembrance of the victims of the explosion of atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All, including children, are welcome to join the informal commemoration ceremony to be attended by the Lord Mayor in the Japanese garden, when a message from the Mayor of Nagasaki will be read out.This is followed by a picnic with music by well-known local folk singer, Roy Bailey, and poetry reading. Organised by Sheffield Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament and Meersbrook Park Community Walled Garden.Free - please bring food to share. Refreshments available.Nearest entrance is in Brook Road, Meersbrook. Buses: 53 from Pond Street; 20, 20A, 25, 25A from the Peace Gardens to Beeton Road/Chesterfield
