Inspired by Shona participatory music practice (originally from Zimbabwe), this will be an open, participatory music environment, and have different peoples from all across Sheffield engage with the creation of music, all ages and backgrounds, asylum seekers, refugees, people that have lived in Sheffield all their life and people that may have only moved here recently, whether they play music or not. Bring an instrument or there will be some instruments / sticks available to freely pick up and play around with. Open to all – come along and join in! South Street Amphitheatre is the NEW park up the hill behind railway station. In association with Translating Performance, a project based at the University of Sheffield. Researchers will be present at these events, looking at the role of performer and audience.
